\n\tKeynote speakers from the UK will be Sheila Rogers<\/strong>, a leading consultant on equality, diversity and human rights, and Alasdair Palmer<\/strong>, the Sunday Telegraph’s Public Policy Editor, who writes extensively on immigration issues in the UK.  Keynote speakers from Estonia will be Natalja Kitam<\/strong>, founder of the website etnoweb.ee and a leading proponent of multiculturalism in Estonia, and Estonian politician,Trivimi Velliste<\/strong>, member of coalition party IRL.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tSeminar on Tolerance, 1 March 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tI am delighted to invite you to a seminar on the issue of Tolerance, organised jointly by the British Embassy and the British Council in Tallinn, as a follow up to the successful British Council seminar organised in January 2011.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe purpose of the event is to compare and contrast the assimilationist and multiculturalist views on integration in multiethnic societies, and facilitate an exchange of experience and approaches between Estonia and the UK on this topic.<\/p>\n

\n\tKeynote speakers from the UK will be Sheila Rogers, a leading consultant on equality, diversity and human rights, with experience in Northern Ireland, Canada, Norway and Ukraine, and Alsasdair Palmer, the Sunday Telegraph’s Public Policy Editor, who writes extensively on immigration issues in the UK.<\/p>\n

\n\tKeynote speakers from Estonia will be Natalja Kitam, founder of the website etnoweb.ee and a leading proponent of multiculturalism in Estonia, and Trivimi Velliste, Estonian politician and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. \n\tAfter introductions by each of the speakers, the Tallinn Debating Society will be facilitating a debate between the speakers and audience, in which you are welcome to take part.<\/p>\n

\n\tSheila Rogers <\/strong>Equality, diversity and human rights consultant.<\/p>\n

\n\tSheila Rogers has been involved in equality, diversity and human rights for more than 25 years. Sheila was appointed chief executive of the Commission for Racial Equality in Northern Ireland in 1997, and was involved in setting up the Equality Commission in Northern Ireland, where she led the work of the Race Directorate before moving to the UK Commission for Racial Equality (CRE). Sheila has worked across Europe on race and other equality issues and was Runnymede’s Country Expert for an EU project on anti- discrimination. Sheila sits on the Advisory Group supports the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities’ Advocacy Project. She is also a member of the Kick Racism out of Football Equality Accreditation Panel.<\/p>\n
