At the beginning of November, NGO representatives met with the State Information System Agency (RIA) to jointly discuss the experiences of NGOs and their needs to make their association’s cyber-secure.
Presentations were made by Marju Hendre, who spoke about the situation in cyberspace, and Kaisa Vooremäe, who focused on practical recommendations for both preventing and responding to attacks.
For a weekly overview of the most topical cyber threats, please visit the blog of the State Information System Authority. You can also find valuable summaries of what’s happening in Estonian cyberspace here.
All sorts of suspicious emails (e.g. fishing, CEO scams, etc.) can be sent to cert@cert.ee. In this way, the State Information System Authority will also have a better overview of the types of attacks and situations that NGOs in particular face. Today, the RIA lacks this practical knowledge.
But if you want to start cyber-proofing your association now, here are some recommendations.
