In the year of local elections, it may be worthwhile to be better informed about what local authorities are doing – and about their results and development. Without leaving your computer, you can be better informed, for example, by consulting the data on the minuomavalitsus.ee portal.

The portal brings together a wealth of data, which can be systematised according to various criteria and easily explored in graphs. In other words, you can find out about the state and level of services in a particular municipality.

Minuomavalitsus.ee assesses local authorities on the basis of more than 700 different indicators. The data come from various agencies and registers, from the municipalities themselves, and also from satisfaction surveys carried out centrally.
However, it is also possible to obtain a sectoral overview: a picture of the situation in one area across municipalities, with the possibility of comparing the performance and levels of different municipalities. Be it in open government, education, culture, environmental issues, etc., the level of local government can be assessed.

If you are planning to – or already do – cooperate with a local authority, if you have an interest in a local authority, or if you are simply interested in your town or city as a citizen, you may find the information on the portal useful.
