Who are those great people, good volunteers and influential organisations that have stood out in 2024? Now is the time to recall them all and nominate them for the Civil Society Doers of the Year.

Nominations are open in nine categories until 4 December via this online form.

Categories:

  • NGO of the Year, an organisation that is a role model, an outstanding doer and motivator.
  • Act of the Year, which can be nominated as the most significant change in civil society.
  • Missionary of the Year, the person who does good things with heart, soul and mind.
  • Volunteer of the Year, who has consistently contributed to the development of Estonian society.
  • Volunteers engager of the Year, a person who has consistently and thoughtfully mentored, inspired and engaged volunteers.
  • Public Authorities Representative of the Year, an institution or a person who has supported civil society activities and the overall development of the voluntary sector.
  • Company of the Year, whether social enterprise or not, but certainly one that is more than a sponsor.
  • Voice of the Year, who has made important civil society issues and voluntary sector’s opinion on it’s solution heard.
  • Network of the Year, a community that may be small on the outside but great and mighty on the inside.

The winners will be selected by a panel of experts in the field from the nominations received by the deadline.

The awards will be handed over by President Alar Karis at a ceremony in February 2025.

NENO has been awarding the Civil Society Doers of the Year since 1996 and the Volunteers of the Year since 2005. From 2020, the two awards are held together.
